Eczema and your clothes
SKIN AND CLOTHES (Eczema and Psoriasis) For individuals with skin problems it is essential to wear the right clothes that will not aggravate your skin. Try and wear clothes that generally feel comfortable on the skin. Tight and restrictive clothes are not good as they can make you feel hot, sweaty, itchy etc.Cotton clothes and cotton mixes are the best option, try to avoid clothes made from wool, polyester and other synthetic fibres. Wash your clothes using a skin friendly non-biological wash and wash new clothes before wearing them for the first time, to remove excess dyes. Before I buy clothes I check the label to see whether the materials used in the clothes will suit me. At times I have brought the odd piece of clothing that I really liked the look of even though it was made from unsuitable materials such as nylon and wool. However after wearing these particular clothes I have felt hot, sweaty and uncomfortable and have ended up hardly wearing these clothes.
