Most of us would like to or really need to lose weight. There is no doubt about the fact that there appears to be an obesity boom going on in the world right now.Being obese is beyond being fat, but being fat or over weight is where it all starts.
The time to take control of this problem is when you start to become fat and you find that out when your cloths begin to "feel tight".
Before a diet is started it is a good idea to find out why you are over weight in the first place. This can be down to many reasons: Eating fast food/lack of exercise/being unhappy/worried or what ever.
If you look at the reasons for putting on weight most of them will come down to an unbalanced life. For instanced, you eat fast food because of work pressure, which means that you do not have the time to cook the right food for yourself and just grab something off the self of the local store and "heat and eat".
This" heat and eat" is all done and dusted in 15 minutes, what a way to live! Why do we do this? It is not happiness and it is not begin in control. It is modern life that is, in many ways forced upon us.
There is another way and that is to take control. This is a lot easy said then done. We all know that, because we all have pressures on our lives. Paying the bills, doing our job, getting the kids to school and so on. But the fact of the matter is you can and must take control because it is your life and nobodies else's and it is down to you.
The problem is how do you take control? Well I am a great believer in writing things down; so get your self a notebook and write down what you do in a day for two weeks or so. I know this might be a lot of trouble but if you want to take control you must find out; take control of what?
When you have got your notes; read them and analyse them. Then take control and you do this exactly the same way, as you would eat an elephant: one bit at a time.
Find out what you can take control of, start with the little things. This might be not working right up to the time that you go to bed. Try and put a bit of space between your bed time and work, like reading or watching a bit of light TV.
Or may be you will find that your are the sort of person who always says "yes" and so end up doing all the work. Start saying "no" every once in a while to ease your load. It does not have to be you that does everything; the world will still go round you know.
The main thing is to keep the main thing; the main thing. And the main thing is to take control of your life. Stop nasty little habits that unbalance your life and start living your life now and for now.
A balanced life is a happy life and most happy people do not put on weight.
